The IIIRR held a one day international conference on a "Dynamic Approach to Natural Disaster Mitigation" on April 10, 2008 under the sponsorship of the Department of Civil Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, and the Urban Alliance, a partnership between the City of Calgary and the University of Calgary.
